The upcoming Sound Horizon DVD&BD The Assorted Horizons, which will be released next June, will feature a total of 31 songs (including those in the limited edition). Which songs do make this new release worth it?

Seisen no Iberia

Old footage that was already in a past DVD? Sadly, that’s what this is. It’s the only bit of the DVD that is not strictly never-before-seen. However, there is something to hope for: Better edition! When this footage was first released, as part of the Triumph live DVD, it had a number of edition flaws, mainly errors in continuity editing. That would cause Jimang to be looking to the right and then to the left in the very next shot, or RIKKI to magically swap the microphone from one hand to the other. Let’s hope this new release also comes with a new and better montage.

6th Story Moira

The LIVE DVD Triumph of 3rd Territorial Expansion (2009) contained a few songs from Moira. However, we haven’t had a rendition of Shiseru Otome, sono Te ni wa Suigetsu (aka Parthenos) in a DVD before, other than the actual 6th Story Concert DVD. However, what most of us are truly excited to see is Jimang as Leontius fighting Revo in Shiseru Eiyuu no Tatakai (Eromachia).

Mahotsukai Saraband

Few of us thought we would ever see this song in a DVD. There is a fragment of it in the Medley of Prelude to Elysion featured in the Triumph DVD, but this is another story. REMI is the main vocal, and Haruka plays the voice as she did in the original album.

Sunawachi.. what?

This spin-off song of Super High Gravity was sung for the first time at this concert. We recommend you to take a look at the lyrics (and translation) before watching the DVD!

Kimi ga Umarete Kuru Sekai by Joelle

This song was one of the main highlights of the Holiday Special 2010 setlist. Very few songs from Chronicle 2nd have had a live version, but at the same time many of us secretly wish there was a live remake of the whole album. This song will surely be one of the nicest surprises of the DVD.

Revo’s Halloween Party

Leviathan and Poca Felicità

Probably some of the rarest songs in a Sound Horizon live ever. The two image albums Leviathan and Poca Felicità were released by Revo as side-projects (what we call now Linked Horizon) back in 2005 and 2006, and are still unknown to many Laurants. Both The Beast of the Endness and La Ragazza Col Fucile are strong epic songs which work as lead songs of each album, but the end bit of Shoukan to iu Gishiki (the famous “Does privatization kill him, or does he kill privatization?”) is what most lovers of Leviathan will be looking forward to the most.

Stardust (finally!)

And finally, it has happened. After years and years of hoping for a live version of Stardust on DVD, we now have it. Although this song is usually associated to KAORI when it comes to lives, it was Minami Kuribayashi who sang it this time. Anyway, it won’t be easy to live up to the expectations!

The Story of Halloween and the Night
